Energy supplier and UK ISP First Utility has launched a spring sale on their range of broadband and phone packages, which among other things sees their ‘up to’ 38Mbps and 76Mbps superfast home broadband (FTTC) and phone bundles dropping to £24.99 and £29.99 per month respectively.

Once again ISP Vodafone has managed to push the UK entry-level price for an FTTC (VDSL2) based unlimited superfast home broadband and phone line package even lower. Prices have now dropped another £1 to start at £20 a month for their ‘up to’ 38Mbps plan and £25 for ‘up to’ 76Mbps.

The Post Office has today become the latest big phone and home broadband ISP after Sky Broadband to adopt “average” (measured at peak time) advertised download speeds on their packages. On top of that they’ve also reduced their prices, which may help to counter the recent price rise news.

The broadband ISP division of John Lewis has launched a new offer that bundles a “free” Lenovo IdeaPad 120S (81A4005PUK) laptop PC in Mineral Grey with their UK internet access and phone packages. The offer will be available to order until 22nd May 2018 or until the computers run out.

Fibre optic home broadband ISP Hyperoptic, which has so far deployed their 1Gbps capable FTTP/B network to 400,000 premises in parts of 28 UK cities, will today cut their prices to the lowest level we’ve ever seen. Starting at just £14 per month (12 month term) for an unlimited 30Mbps service.

On top of that they’re also offering free activation (saving £40) on their standalone broadband packages when used with the promo code SPRING40 during sign-up.

Sky UK’s sibling NOW TV video streaming and ISP platform has cut the price of their unlimited 17Mbps “Brilliant Broadband” (ADSL) and 38Mbps “Fat Fibre” (FTTC / VDSL2) packages for the first 12 months of service, which takes their monthly prices to just £15 and £20 respectively.

Cable ISP Virgin Media has launched a sale of their standalone 50Mbps to 300Mbps ultrafast broadband packages (no phone service required), which cuts £7 off the monthly rental for the first 12 month contract term. Customers also need to pay a £20 one-off activation fee.

Mobile operator EE has refreshed their range of 4G based pay-as-you-go (PAYG) Mobile Broadband plans in order to improve their flexibility (e.g. data roll-over for any unused allowance) and value. Customers who pick a plan of 6GB or above can also get up to 3GB of free data.

Internet and mobile provider EE has discounted the price of their fixed line home broadband and phone (line rental) bundles for new customers, which will be available to order until 4th April 2018. The new offer prices apply for the first 18 months of service (contract term).

The broadband ISP division of John Lewis has further discounted all of their packages until 27th March 2018, which sees their 17Mbps bundle with phone line rental drop to £20 per month, while 38Mbps is now £27.50 and 76Mbps becomes £32.50 for the first 12 months of service.

Low cost ISP TalkTalk appears to be taking the fight to Vodafone and other UK rivals by introducing new discounts, which will make some of their broadband and phone (with optional Pay TV) bundles as cheap as they were all the way back in 2016 (e.g. 38Mbps “fibre” for £22.50).

Another day, another discount for UK ISP Plusnet. This time they’ve introduced a new offer that cuts the price of their ‘up to’ 76Mbps FTTC “Unlimited Fibre Extra” broadband and phone package to £29.99 a month for 18 months (£38.98 thereafter) with free activation. Available until 6th March 2018.
