Electricity and gas supplier First Utility has cut the monthly prices of their standard and superfast FTTC “fibre broadband” and phone bundles for Black Friday. The new discounts will be available to new customers between 23rd November and 7th December 2017.

New customers taking out one of Hyperoptic’s 30Mbps, 150Mbps or 1000Mbps ultrafast FTTP/B broadband packages in parts of 28 UK cities and towns can now get an extra 20% off the price when they take a 12 month contract by using the promo code BLACK17. The setup fee has also been removed.

The Post Office has introduced a Black Friday bonus to their existing UK unlimited broadband and phone price reductions, which gives new customers a £30 account credit (available on orders made until 27th November). The downside is that you can only get this on their ‘up to’ 17Mbps package.

We expect a few more ISPs to offer “Black Friday” style price discounts this week and TalkTalk are the latest to show their hand. The low cost provider has introduced a mild price cut to their monthly broadband bundles and removed setup fees, which also extends to their premium TV Plus options.

Vodafone has published their latest Q3 2017 (calendar) results, which saw their fixed line broadband base grow by +33,000 in the quarter to total 278,000 (better than the +29K added in Q2). Meanwhile 4G Mobile coverage (population) has reached 97% of the UK and they’ve cut their FTTC prices.

The so-called “Black Friday” bonanza of discounting is beginning to get under way. Sky Broadband have been one of the first to jump by significantly cutting the monthly prices and setups fee of their unlimited broadband and superfast “fibre” (FTTC) bundles for new customers.

UK ISP BT has cut the price of their ‘up to’ 76Mbps Unlimited Infinity 2 (FTTC) broadband and phone bundle, which has been reduced from the previous offer of £49.99 a month for 18 months to just £39.99 for new customers (£56.49 thereafter). They’ve also added a £150 Reward Mastercard.

UK ISP Plusnet has launched a new promotion that cuts the price of their unlimited ‘up to’ 38Mbps (FTTC) “fibre broadband” and phone line rental bundle from £33.98 to just £22.99 a month for the first 18 months of service (new customers). The £25 one-off action fee has also been removed.

Cable operator Virgin Media has today started a short “Flash Sale” of their standalone 50-300Mbps ultrafast cable broadband packages, which cuts a few extra pounds off the existing discounts and will be available to order by new customers until 11th October 2017.
