Owners of Apple's latest music player, the iPod Touch, should be pleased to learn that they can now receive a cheap
Wi-Fi broadband wireless Internet connection for it too.
The Cloud, a national UK
Wi-Fi Hotspot operator, has graciously begun offering users of the new iPod access to its broadband wireless network for just £3.99 per month.
Naturally the service is specifically geared towards music downloads and will go live from Monday 1st October next week:
iPod Touch users need to sign-up for the service at
http://www.thecloud.co.uk/ipod , where they can register their individual device for use on The Clouds network across the UK and pay for the service. Once a user has registered their device, they are able to connect to any The Cloud
Wi-Fi network without complicated usernames and passwords. The service is being introduced in the UK first and will become available in other European markets shortly.
The Cloud offers wireless broadband access at thousands of locations across Europe, including airports, hotels and railway stations throughout the UK, Germany, the Nordics and The Netherlands.
The service itself is called '
Cloud Unlimited Music' and is not subject to any minimum term contract. Unlike similar deals in the USA, this one does not restrict access to the iTunes service, instead allowing full Internet surfing.
