Thinkbroadband reports that customers of Madasafish (Brightview) have been issued with a surprise newsletter announcing what appears to be the partial merger of Madasafish with PlusNet:
This December, Madasafish is joining forces with BT-owned PlusNet, another leading name in the Broadband world, to offer fast, forward-looking Internet and Talk services to our customers.
We will continue to be Madasafish - your award-winning Customer Service and Technical Support teams will not change and the great standard of service that you receive will not change. However, by combining our networks and infrastructure we will be able to deliver better and more exciting services in the future.
However the move isn't terribly unusual, after all BT does own both the Brightview group and PlusNet. Indeed another of Brightviews vISP's, Global Internet, was recently merged (
news) into Madasafish suggesting further consolidation might be on the cards.
By itself Madasafish has managed to become one of the most highly regarded ISPs in the UK and hence appears to be keeping its identity, at least for now. We shouldnt forget BTs recent jobs restructuring, which has made internal consolidation all the more important from a cost saving point of view.
Further details are expected to be revealed over the coming months, with additional improvements to Madasafishs customer support section due to be introduced soon.
