Continuing our security theme, this months new survey asks: "How would you gage your knowledge of security software (anti-virus etc.)?". Results from our previous survey can be found below:
Who should be held most responsible if a net users PC is hijacked (virus etc.) and used for abuse?
User - 72.4% Internet Provider - 27.5%
Total Votes = 722
Unsurprisingly most of you (72%) felt it to be the responsibility of the individual, while 28% would put the onus on the ISP.
In reality even the most secure of providers can only offer cover to a certain degree, meaning that some element of any connection must always be protected by the end user (e.g. firewall).
ISPs could improve the situation by playing a more active role in educating consumers, something that only a small minority still do today.
