Industry analysts from Dresdner Kleinwort and Ovum have poured mutual scorn upon
Orange UK's broadband service, criticising it for failing to keep pace with the competition and losing customers:
Analysts at Dresdner Kleinwort said, "[ORANGE HAS] failed to respond to any of the recent price cuts by its competitors, leaving us to believe it is happy to sit by for now and watch its customers disappear."
Orange is currently ranked 5th largest in the UK ISP industry with just over 1m broadband subscribers to its name, yet there are hints of a decline in its results that could prove tough to reverse.
The ISP and mobile operator has also suffered due to the many complaints against its support and services, such as the recent sagas of deleted e-mail accounts and debt collection letters.
However it should be noted that the provider did recently make a move to improve its customer support (
here) and now has plans for a major advertising push over the coming months. Its also suggested that the provider may attempt to buy one of its rivals in order to gain a little mass but weve seen no sign of this, yet.
