UK ISP Fast4.net has issued a second statement concerning the recent broadband congestion problems on their provider. It's understood that new capacity will now be introduced over this coming weekend:
Fast4 has today issued a statement that hopefully will banish the complaints from customers of slow surfing and bad ping speeds. Fast4 has been one of the fastest growing ISPs in the market place since launching in October 2006 and its suppliers have not been able to keep up with the demand.

I cannot apologise enough for the disappointment that this issue has caused many of our much valued customer base. We simply grew quicker than ever expected and the wholesalers above us obviously did not realise this was happening until it was too late.
Many of our customers started complaining of the wrong profiles being added to their accounts, bad pings and very slow surfing. This was all down to what we have found out to be over congestion on one of the many central pipes we use to deliver our customers to the web. Over this coming weekend this is going to be expanded and the faults should all banish at the same time.
I would like to thank all those that did help us in sending us stats and graphs which enabled us to pin point the exact fault and this in turn has led to a speedy recovery process being put into place.
We have now also worked with the suppliers in question to implement a trigger alert that will mean that this will not happen again.
