Further research from Ofcom, this time into the growth and changes of modern television (TV) services, has revealed that broadband based TV products (IPTV) continue to increase:
TELEVISION OVER BROADBAND (Tiscali TV)
An additional 19,000 homes took a broadband television service during the quarter, an increase of 44.2% on the previous quarter. The total number of homes now receiving television over broadband stands at 62,000.
The title appears to suggest that Ofcom's statistics only include data from Tiscali. There are several other major IPTV services available in the UK, such as BT Vision.
Meanwhile most of the countries major broadcasters have already launched or are preparing to launch their own IPTV content services, such as the BBC, Channel4 and ITV.
