ISP Virgin.net has achieved a near 100% increase in traffic to its site over the last year. In January 2005 it recorded 16m page impressions, which grew to over 30m in January 2006:
The growth in traffic reflects the hard work of the portal team - whose work was recently rewarded when Virgin.net won the UKs Most Popular Portal award by MetrixLab - and the introduction of a range of new content channels including Broadband, Play, Bet and Win and Lifestyle.
New features such as the pub finder on the Food and Drink channel which allows you to search for the pub matching your precise specifications have been a clear hit with the portals users. The ISP also signed a deal with Future Publishing to publish content from its PC Answers and T3 magazines on the portals Technology channel, providing beginners guides to the internet and reviewing all the latest hi-tech wizardry.
Virgin.net mini sites and channel specials also account for much of the growth with the Christmas and Valentines channel proving to be especially popular. This years World Cup mini site is set to be one of the http://www.virgin.nets most popular areas and will contain unique content, polls, galleries and features for both football fans and blaggers.
