UK rail operator GNER has announced the completion of its
Wi-Fi rollout, which has occurred ahead of schedule. The new service covers its entire fleet of trains and carriages:
The project, which was due to be completed in May 2007, offers passengers travelling on any of GNER's 41 electric and diesel trains internet access onboard.
According to the GNER, the project has been pushed through earlier due to increased demand from passengers.
The
Wi-Fi service is free to first class ticket holders, while standard class travellers can access the internet on a pay-as-you-go basis from £2.95 for 30 minutes to £9.95 for an up to 24-hour connection.
