T-Mobile has followed yesterdays O2 news (
here) by announcing cuts to its own European data (Internet) roaming charges. Customers will now pay "
just" £1.50 per MegaByte (MB), which is a significant drop from the dizzy heights of £7.50! The price of texting while abroad will also drop from 40 pence per text (ppt) to 25ppt.
Typically the EU would prefer for all mobile operators to charge a far lower flat rate, similar to the prices they offer for local '
Mobile Broadband' (HSPA) usage. However, introducing such a thing across so many different countries and networks is probably more than a little unworkable; one day maybe.
