Broadband.co.uk has released its latest anecdotal monthly broadband speed testing results for November, which show that
Virgin Media has extended its top position with an average download of 6.311Mbps (5.77Mbps in October). However
O2 (
Be Broadband) still holds a commanding lead for upstream performance with speeds of 0.729Mbps (0.773Mbps in October).
Interestingly
Orange UK has seen its average speeds collapse to a paltry 1.152Mbps, which is significantly down from 2.761Mbps in October; upload performance has also fallen! We've reorganised the results into a Top 10 below:
TalkTalk appears to have recovered from its September slump, no doubt helped in part by recent network upgrades, which may help it rise further in future months. The average over all tests was a download speed of 3.216Mbps, which is now the fourth monthly drop in a row since July 2008's average of 3.609Mbps.
