It's been confirmed that the BBC's Director of Future Media and Technology, Ashley Highfield, is leaving his position at the corporation to become the new CEO of Project Kangaroo, replacing interim boss Leslie MacKenzie.
Project Kangaroo is best described as an attempt to develop a single content delivery platform for the Internet TV (IPTV) services of the BBC, Channel4 and ITV. His move has apparently been on the cards for awhile and follows a recent outburst directed at certain ISPs over content costs (
