HIGH.TV launches AOL UK into the Extreme
High.tv, the first scheduled extreme sports TV channel on the Internet has signed an agreement with AOL UK, the UKs leading online interactive services provider, to become AOLs latest broadband partner.
High.tv is providing AOL Broadband Gold and Platinum members with the chance to view over 25 different adventure, action, outdoor and extreme sports events from around the world.
Offering the viewer the very best in sports such as surfing, skating, snowboarding, biking and climbing, High.tv is available 24/7 to AOL UK members at no additional cost.
This is the first time that AOL UK has provided its members with access to a scheduled TV channel of this kind, and it further strengthens the broadband content available on the AOL Sport channel, which already includes video highlights of the latest major sports events.
Iolo Jones, Channel Director for High.tv said, We are delighted that High TV is to be carried by AOL for the first time. AOL is the pre-eminent online content service provider with a strong customer base and High TV was the first scheduled, full screen broadband service of its kind. It seems fitting that we're working together to bring better broadband services to our viewers.
Chris Condron, Head of Broadband Content at AOL UK said: We know many of our members are passionate about sport, and broadband provides the ideal environment for them to follow their favourite activity online, whether its football, cricket, or something a little more adventurous.
High.tv broadcasts a wide variety of live sports events on a regular basis, which so far have included the ICC World Climbing Championships from Chamonix, World Cup Mountain biking from Alpes dHuez and Fort William, Snowbombing from Les Arcs, the UKs first indoor Windsurfing Championships at the Schroders London Boat Show, and most recently the Professional Windsurfing Association (PWA) World Cup from Fuerteventura.
