Having more or less abandoned plans to launch a two-way broadband satellite service in the UK, Tiscali has now begun to launch a cheaper one-way alternative in Italy. Unfortunately a 'finalised' UK service is looking unlikely:
In May, Tiscali announced that it had teamed up with Eutelsat to provide a one-way broadband satellite service throughout 15 countries in Europe.
At the time, the ISP said the service would begin to be rolled out in Europe from the summer.
No one at Tiscali was available to say when the service might be rolled out to the UK. Earlier this year, Tiscali shelved plans to roll-out a two-way broadband satellite service after a pilot showed the service was too costly for users.More @
