Controversy erupted last week after it emerged that the Distributed Server Boycott List (DSBL) had blacklisted BTs e-mail servers due to a security vulnerability. Today BT claims to have resolved the problem:
"With regards to the recent concerns raised by the blacklist provider, the Distributed Server Boycott List, we are pleased to announce that a minor modification has been made to the BTConnect e-mail platform.
This will alleviate DSBL's concerns regarding a perceived configuration error on the BTConnect platform. We have contacted DSBL to request removal of BT Connect from the blacklist and have been informed that this will happen within the next week. BT Connect customers have been informed of the modification."
So much for BT claiming that their servers werent at fault, although server-side blacklists are themselves still prone to problems.
