ISP AOL UK is now offering a FREE ADSL modem and or migration with its broadband package. More importantly, AOL will also allow service over NTL Cable-modems for £27.99 per month via the operators 600kbps service:
According to AOL, about 70 per cent of UK households are able to get AOL Broadband via a BT telephone line and now 7.2m households can get the service via an NTL cable connection.
Karen Thomson, chief executive at AOL UK, said: "We want to make it [AOL Broadband] available to as many consumers as possible and rolling out on the NTL network significantly increases our reach ahead of our rivals."
AOL claims it is the only online service provider in the UK to offer access to narrowband customers across both cable networks and the BT network. The ISP signed an £85m contract with NTL in December 2002.More @
