AOL has released the results of a new nationwide NOP survey into UK surfing habits, which found that surfers in Sheffield spend the most time online (one third surf 30 hours each week):
In comparison, 24 per cent of internet users hailing from London spend only two to four hours online each week.
According to AOL's research, 71 per cent of net users living in Sheffield are more likely to use the internet for listening to music. The South Yorkshire residents also consider themselves to be more of an expert at using the internet than any other city in the UK.
A massive 85 per cent of Sheffield surfers know what broadband is and over one third think that broadband is the best thing since sliced bread.The
Web-User item notes that the survey was conducted with 1,500 men and women from seven major cities in the UK, all of whom spent at least two hours a week hooked up at home.
