BAA To Install 180 BT Internet Kiosks

BT has won an £18 million contract with BAA to install 180 of its Internet Kiosks at three of the countrys busiest airports - Heathrow, Gatwick and Stansted. The operator will also add an additional 350 payphones:
A key element of the deal is the replacement of around one third of the existing payphones with BT Internet Kiosks, similar to the increasingly familiar "blue boxes" found on the high street. At the kiosks, passengers will be able to surf the web and check e-mails, as well as make phone calls. The deal provides both companies with revenue growth opportunities for the future by offering services to companies such as advertising and sponsored content on the kiosks.
BT offers a range of Internet Kiosks which can be located indoors or outdoors. They can be completely new installations or customised versions of existing street kiosks offering any combination of telephone, internet access and e-mail.
Site owner customers range from shops, banks, hotels and tourist attractions to local government authorities and public services and include British Land, Delancey, Land Securities, Legal & General Assurance Society, Butlins, Haven Holidays and councils in Bolton, Liverpool and Somerset. The interactive kiosks are tailored to meet the needs of their customers and are easy to use, even for those that have limited or no experience of PCs.
BT has already installed more than 1,500 public Internet Kiosks in UK high streets, shopping centres, tube, rail and bus stations. They can be used for payphone calls, surfing the web, sending e-mail, text, photo and even video messages.
