UK ISP
Vispa Internet has announced the introduction of Mail Guardian, which is its new FREE (to existing customers) anti-spam and virus e-mail filtering service:
Vispa Introduce Mail Guardian Spam & Virus Filtering
Vispa Internet Limited (www.vispa.net), one of the UK's leading Independent Internet Service Providers (ISP), have introduced a highly sophisticated anti-spam and anti-virus email gateway for all Vispa users, free of charge.
Anti-Spam email scanning is based upon a comprehensive set of rules, heuristic scanning and a vast Bayesian filter. This allows users to avoid malwares such as Viruses, Worms and Trojans, that there are currently in excess of 110,000 types worldwide.
"Vispa's new Mail Guardian's anti-spam system was developed in-house following six months of research and development. Once development was completed the service has gone through rigorous testing, and now we are in a position to introduce this revolutionary protection service to our
users." said Martin Pitt, Director.
Vispa users are to be given full control of the anti-spam scanning should they choose to "opt-in" to the new free of charge service, and can adjust the strength of the filter on each email address in their account, to meet exact requirements. Unlike other ISP's, who continue to compulsorily introduce spam protection on all their users, Vispa allows our customers to decide which emails they receive. Updated every 60 minutes to ensure maximum protection against new outbreaks, Vispa's Mail Guardian is available as standard to protect all users with no additional fees.
"We felt the need to offer virus-scanning as standard across all accounts to offer all our users a high level of protection without compromising the flow of genuine email. As the threat of viruses is ever-increasing, and spam is becoming more intrusive than ever before, we believe that the time is right to introduce Vispa Mail Guardian." said James Ormerod, Director.
Vispa Mail Guardian is available free immediately on all dialup and broadband accounts. All email accounts are protected from viruses as standard. Anti-spam protection is entirely optional and can be enabled on desired email accounts via Vispa's 'MyAccount' customer control panel.
