One of our readers, Sam, has been kind enough to forward on a notification from BT regarding the forthcoming CWU strike action and its effect on broadband installations:
CWU - Strike Action Affecting BT
The CWU have notified BT that they intend to take industrial action consisting of a series of one day strikes over the recent introduction of a voluntary incentive scheme. Strike action will be limited to customer service field engineers who visit customers and broadband end-users for provision and repair jobs. The strike days will take place on Monday 14th April, Friday 25th April and to a lesser extent on Monday 28th April.
The company's priority is to continue to deliver service to its customers in line with their expectations. However, in order to minimise the disruption to customers and broadband end-users, appointments for engineering visits will not now be offered on 14th and 25th of April.
Regrettably this means that end-users who have made an appointment for the 14th and 25th, before the strike action was announced, will need to be contacted and informed that their appointment will have to be changed.
It is important that no further appointments are made for Monday 14 April or Friday 25th April.
