UK ISP Virgin.net has agreed to help local campaign groups wanting to get broadband (ADSL) into their area. Having successfully assisted two such groups, the ISP now wishes to spread its influence:
In order to help the campaigns in Eccleston and Clyde Valley to get the numbers to reach the trigger level required, Virgin offered a year's free broadband access to one lucky punter in each of the areas and a £10 donation to a local charity for each activated customer.
The campaigns, Broadband4Eccleston and the Clyde Valley Broadband Initiative have been on the stump since last June. They have now been given dates in October for activation.
