The latest research from Nielsen/NetRatings shows that the UK has more children online (4.5 million) than any other European country. There are presently 13.1 million youngsters surfing the Internet around Europe, which is up 3 million over 2002:
According to internet measurement company Nielsen/NetRatings, four million of these are under 12 years old and nine million are between 12 and 17 years old.
The research also reveals that the UK has more children online than any other European country, especially in the under 18 category which saw a 58% growth this year. But it's the under 12s that are the fastest growing internet sector across Europe.
"What we're seeing now is families using the internet," said market analyst Tom Ewing. "It's likely that this is linked with the growth of broadband access - perhaps when they're not paying for access by the minute, parents are likely to let children use and explore the web more."Unfortunately the news, highlighted @
