Title: AAISP
I was having awful trouble with my ISP, and I swapped to these guys quite a few years ago. They fought with BT and got my line stable and faster, and have continued to "get it done" with a minimum of fuss for nearly four years now.
I have just upgraded to FTTC, and of course it was with AAISP. They may not be the cheapest, but they are the best.

Unfortunately my experience has not been all good with AAISP. I used to have Virgin Broadband but they are not available in many places in central London. AAISP are quick to reply to emails but I have found the service unreliable and relatively slow. I also dislike that we sometimes go over our download limit and have ended up paying an extra £50 per month! and we have normal domestic use: movies, photos, music... I do work from home but I don't handle large files and interruptions have been an issue when I've been working from home.

I have get them to install with a new line for my home office, every thing went like a clock work connected the router AAISP provided all worked really well.

I used many ISPs. this is a 1st time some thing worked this efficiently. usually with other isps I have to call their support or isp provisioning team etc to get all going.

I had a non urgent issue with IPV6 so I have email their support. their Duty Manager initials S.K (not sure I should post his name or not) but he taken that request and went above and beyond to sort this out. their is noting wrong with the connection. still accommodate my request to get that resolved.

I know they are slightly more expensive than run of the mill mass market isp but level of service you get is amazing. latency is very good so every thing feel faster. even tho I only have a 40:10 connection.

when the line go down I get text and email and I can change that what time I need what etc. their control panel is amazing too.

for now their 100gig basic limit is ok but wish they increase that limit to 200gig with out charging another £10. level of service I get I dont mind paying for now :-)

I have used AAISP for many years and they have been consistently excellent. You can access all the "back end" functions that you could possibly need, but if you just want to sit back and allow them to look after everything for you then that is fine as well. Should you need any help there is always a real person at the end of the telephone line - I have even received support on Boxing Day. Thoroughly recommended.

Some aspects of what A&A deliver are truly outstanding, some bits of the process are in my view less well executed.

We moved to A&A from Plusnet. Plusnet were almost impossible to talk to, i.e. they would eventually go through the same script and then say there was nothing wrong and our broadband was as good as it could be. We moved to A&A on a recommendation from a third party IT company.

The move to A&A was smooth and access to technical support AND the staff have been a breath of fresh air - they are great. Pick up the phones almost immediately and you speak to a specialist who is on the case with knowledge and a good degree of 'interpersonal skill'. Their ability to fix things seems to go well ahead of any of their competitors as they talk sense AND make things happen AND propose solutions where others say there is nothing that can be done.

Where is the weakness? Their sales process is I think lacking. We moved to get faster broadband on the suggestion that we could bond two lines. We got the line in first and had no appreciable speed increase. Then to their credit A&A Recommended a Firebrick to prioritize voice. This was duly shipped but came out without the appropriate router which had to follow, later it came to light that using the setup shipped knocked out the wireless access... this was eventually fixed by support re-configuring the old wireless router remotely. BUT I feel sales got it wrong at the outset by not shipping the right parts or spotting the issues / asking the right questions.

Later on when the speed was still problematic A&A suggested bonding a second line. This took a long time to be sorted and necessitated paying an additional fee to 'upgrade' the Firebrick. These bills were raised and paid for weeks and weeks before BT managed to provision the 2nd line and get it working. I suspect we were paying for something we were not receiving and clearly paid for an update way sooner than we should. The issue did not end there though...

On seeing the second box on the wall for broadband there was also no way of connecting it to the Firebrick as no-one had thought to send a second D-Link. This duly arrived and then tech support worked hard to get it sorted.

We are not quite sure if the installation is working as it should as the line keeps re-setting and we are still getting issues with voice but are not sure if it is the hardware or setup at this end or with the BT lines.

I've just moved house. I've been a very satisfied customer of A&A for twelve years, and wanted their wires-only Home::1 at the new address. The whole process couldn't have been easier. A quick friendly chat with Sales a few weeks in advance and it was all arranged. I was kept constantly informed of progress, both by SMS and by comprehensive logs on my control pages. Three days after moving the Openreach engineer arrived at the appointed time, did his thing to transfer the line to the fibre, plugged in my kit from the previous house, and it all just worked.

The whole process was made much less traumatic than it could have been as I never lost internet service between moving and the new installation, as I use A&A's Sip2sim service in my mobile phone. I just tethered to that, and the extra cost was less than a pint of beer a day for quite extensive use. I thoroughly recommend Sip2sim. It works worldwide as a mobile, with a geographical number if you wish - I use an 020 London number. Voicemail is sent via email as a stereo MP3 file - very useful if you're out of the country.

If you want a friendly, knowledgeable, supremely competent and efficient ISP with an innovative outlook, look no further than A&A!

We moved to AAISP after struggling with intermittent connections from BT (FTTC).

Initially we tried a local WISP company but their prices were not justifiable given the limited bandwidth available.

For some reason, when we initially ordered from AAISP, BT decided to cancel our new line orders. AAISP's sales team did all of the work in getting this resolved - requiring not work/time from us.

Then we had an issue with the primary line on our Office::1 connection due to poor installation (confirmed by a second BT engineer). Again, AAISP did all of the work and dealt with BT for us. We simply provided access to the BT engineer and AAISP did everything else.

We have found AAISP to be excellent throughout the order and after sales process. The connection's failover ability means I no longer have to worry about failed connections in the middle of the night.

I really can't recommend them highly enough.

You get what you pay for. It's been said before but I'll say it again, AAISP is worth every penny of their slightly higher than usual price.

You may be scared by the lack of 'unlimited' offers, but this simply is not the issue most people think it's going to be.

What you get is a rock steady connection provided by people who care very much about their quality of service.

You also get to talk to people who listen carefully to what you are saying, and offer great advice.

This isn't for everyone but if you value your sanity I would definitely consider switching to AAISP.

Ok so they're not the cheapest, let's get that out of the way. But they aren't that much dearer than the competition for 80Mb FTTC and I'm not forced to also subscribe to their line rental unlike the competition, which means I'm free to find the best deal on line rental. I did have a few days downtime when switched over but that was mainly due to BT installing the FTTC cabinet and not wiring it up properly. A few emails with the friendly support team and I had an engineer booked very quickly. Since then everything is rock solid, super fast and I have no reason to complain. On top of this is their commitment to privacy and transparency which was the main reason I signed up. Add their small nature and being UK based and it gives me a warm feeling of satisfaction about choosing them over the competition.
