I was with my previous ISP for circa 3-5 years. Constantly dropping the connection and having router reboots and often no internet at all! Well, they used to be in the top 5, now number twenty something!

Since joining TitanADSL, my connection has never been lost, never needed a reboot either. Currently I am on a 24mb package but only getting around 3-5mb (which let's face it is still fast).

After speaking to the friendly staff, I will probably be going to LLU for a better synch and download rate.

Good service, good connection, good staff and very nice price :) Could be faster and really, that is my only minor gripe.

Stay tunned and I will try and post again in circa 4 weeks...

I would certainly reccomend TitanADSL - after all, if you are not happy, it's only a 1 month contract. Give them a go!

Jay
Network Engineer

EDIT: Dec 3rd 2009

Although I have had between 1.5 and 6MB synchs for circa 8 months, I am convinced that on a 24MB package I should be reaching faster synchs. Thus after speaking with the extremely helpful staff at Titan, I moved to LLU.

I have been on the LLU product for just over a week and there is a huge difference. I now have synch rates between 11.4 and 16.8MB! Downloads are also much much faster.

I'm not sure how some users say the support and speeds are not great with Titan. If the speed on your standard package is not good enough, upgrade to LLU - it makes a huge difference. As for users beef with the support - I have yet to experience bad support with Titan - it's been perfect so far and this is coming from someone who WILL complain and take matters to the highest level!

Thanks Titan....

Jay

I joined Titanadsl about six months ago, from Orange (who were dreadful). I went to them on the basis of reviews read, which were mainly positive. However, the only time that I needed support I found them sadly lacking. I was told different things by different people. They advertise 100GB monthly allowance. Apparently this is only for off-peak usage between midnight and 8:00am weekdays. This is pretty useless for most users. I am quite a light user, only occasionally using IPlayer, otherwise general browsing. Four days ago I was rate controlled down to 110kbs. Worse than dialup. This is less than half way through the month. They have also jacked up their rate by forty percent. Take a tip. Stay well clear.

when i moved house a few months ago i left adsl24 because of the problems with their supplier entanet.

after looking for a few weeks at review site's including isp review i chose titan.which is supplied by o-bit. not entanet like previous review states.

i had my Internet a few months and quickly realised i was being traffic shaped, although they say they don't on isp homepage. my speed used to drop to around 1meg at peak times.

it became impossible to even watch videos from utube without waiting minutes for them to buffer.

even out of peak times i was lucky to get over 3meg although my Internet was syncing at 5888kbps

i sent a few emails to them in this time and at first they were quick to respond. then after asking about traffic shapping and a few other things it started to take longer for responce. in the end i finnaly asked for my mac code. this even took them about 4 days to get after my email.

i have seen a lot of good things about titan, but this must be the adsl+2 products via LLU. if you have'nt got this availible at your exchange i would say to stay away from this ISP.

Title: ripped off
ive been with these guys since they started and had been very good.

on my line i speedtest right up to 7.2mb(the max on 8mb)

and ping also at 32ms quite good i think :)

after a bit they went downhill and recently with entanet shaping traffic and claiming no one goes below 2mb its been appaling.

ive went from 8mb to 1mb and since ive requested my mac code ive been sitting with net at 256k.i cant go above this which seems im limited as i choose to migrate well sod you entanet and titanadsl!

shameful isp who simply blame entanet who are also awful.the worst thing is now i have to wait 7 days with useless internet that wont even stream youtube without 5 mins of buffering.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS

I've noticed a trend; most of the good reviews I've read are with Titan's LLU product, their 'Surf 8' product is utter rubbish.

(Maybe it's because they're with O-Bit instead of Entanet now?)

I, like many others, signed up for Titan after reading nothing but good reviews, at first, I was pleased with how quickly I had my e-mails responded to, but then quickly realised it was just excuse after excuse, and it was always a fault with BT's equipment that they were apparrently in the process of fixing...

As of 2 weeks ago, they stopped replying to my e-mails entirely, only responding just over a week ago when I asked for a MAC code, basically a response with the code in there, no name, no greeting. They may as well have written 'fuck off, then'.

I knew it was time to migrate at that point, they've basically held up their hands and said there was nothing they could do, even though they said my issue was isolated.

'Hi

We have given a list of 3 users that seem to be having the same problems out of our 20k customer base and we are just awaiting on their response which is usually 4-6 hours.

Mike'

After doing a fair bit of research, it would seem the number of negative reviews this month alone have risen far beyond 3 users all with the same complaints. He seemed very quick to drop figures on me, though. As if it made a difference to the crap connection I've had from day 1.

I had to e-mail them again the following day, for an update, and was given a similar response and told me that BT had found the problem and that it was being worked on and should be completed within 72 hours. That was two weeks ago...

Thing is, even though my previous ISP, Tiscali, were awful, Titan were/are far worse, I've had a consistent high ping, unsusable for gaming (what I have broadband for to begin with), from morning till night, after 5-6pm I can use it. Unacceptable. I've paid for a month so bad, it's worse than one of the UK's WORST ISPs!!

Not to mention you can't get hold of them by phone, just an automated response spouting more excuses. More like, 'We've shut our lines down because the complaints are overwhelming'.

I should be with Fast.co.uk within a day or two, and I can't wait.

Maybe their LLU product is worth getting, but if you plan on going on their Surf 8 package, avoid it.

Edit - 11/11/09 -

Just got off the phone to O-bit, who last week, invoiced me for 60 pounds for the 1 month's service. They were kind enough to promptly sort it out for me and I will only have to pay for the 1 month.

Apparently, Titan had added 'Service Charges' among other things, things that I hadn't applied for.

Whether it is ultimately Entanet's fault or not, this ISP went from good to VERY BAD in a matter of months.

Gave MAC code without trying to keep the customer or know the reason why.

Traffic shaping of the worst order, terrible ping times in games, extremely slow browsing, forget BBC iPlayer it wouldn't even load up a few minutes of buffering!

Left TitanADSL, as previous reviewer said, NOT SO TITAN.

I was a previous TitanADSL on the Entanet 30/330 package before I moved house and hadn't had a problem with them for over a year. After I moved house I decided to go back with Titan.

They informed me when I signed up that they had problems with Entanet and advised me to sign up to their Obit (surfwise) 100GB package.

Big Mistake ... after 4 months of slow downloads, possible port throttling (when their website says they don't) and poor/slow customer service (takes them days to reply to emails and you stand almost no chance contacting them by phone).

TitanADSL were a great little company 12+ months ago but not anymore.

I'm migrating away to try Naims (and my original 30/300 entanet package) and see if they are any better. Keep your fingers crossed please.

We've been with TitanADSL (Entanet) for nearly a year now and we're just waiting for the anniversary to get a MAC code and go to a better ISP.

We ordered in early October 2008, but didn't get the connection activated until 30 Oct, Titan kept on blaming BT until we threatened to cancel, then immediately got activated.

From the very beginning it was rare to get through and speak to anyone on the phone, usually you got a recorded message.

We were promised faster connection speeds than our previous ISP (Metronet/Plusnet), but actually got slower connection. We had 5 - 5.2Mb speeds before the change then suddenly went down to 4.5 - 4.8Mb with Titan/Entanet. Earlier this year it got even slower with sometimes less than 3.8 - 4Mb speeds, but back up to 4.7Mb now.

But I think for the money we pay per month (about £18) we will go to Zen (I use them at work and they're really good).

By the way don't take the really glowing reviews at face value as last year a Titan employee was posting a rave review for his own company!

Roll on October!

my internet connection with titan stopped, called technical support everyday titan could not resolve the problem. BT came out and checked the line and found no problems.

i check my own equipment on another line, no problems. gave up with them and migrated to Fast.co.uk, i got connection speed of 15.117kbs on day of connection very happy with them.

titan has a sales department who is never open and a technical department who takes 30 min to answer the phone, not good at all.

so if you rely on your internet access for work or business i think you will regret using titan.
