Having fled Nildram (after several years of excellent pre-Tiscali sevice) I have been so far over the moon with the Titan/Enta experience.

No more! I am now (like every other Titan customer)a Vispa user and find myself once again switched onto a throttled, unreliable and useless service.

I won't bother with detail but for any shoppers out there, take my advice - steer well clear of Titan and Vispa.

If of course you want to wait 20 minutes for every Youtube clip to load then I would recommend Vispa without delay!

I joined Titan ADSL over a year ago when I decided I couldn't put up with Tiscali's indifference and poor service. Tiscali were fine when everything was working, but if anything went wrong it was impossible to speak to someone who knew the basics of Internet technology.

Initially, Titan were great. There were a few problems initially, but I could pick up the phone and speak to someone who knew exactly what I was talking about and how their service worked. Issues were swiftly resolved, which is why I chose them.

A year or so later, they changed from using Entanet as their wholesale provider and now use Vispa.

The migration left us temporarily without Internet access, then a few days later they cut us off for a day due to a "billing error". They didn't even try to contact us first to resolve the issue.

My connection speed is less than half what it was with Tiscali, and ping times have doubled. I called their support line and heard the message, "All operators are busy. Please call back later." They don't even have a queueing system!

I emailed them over a week ago to get a MAC code, then followed this up a few days later. I STILL haven't had a response!

I have made a complaint to Ofcom as their refusal to provide a MAC breaches the Ofcom guidelines.

SUMMARY:
Slow speeds, non-existant customer support, billing errors and disconnections mean that I am very far from happy with Titan ADSL's extremely poor service. I would not recommend them.

Title: Abysmal
I'm also one of the many who Titan moved from Enta to Vispa. Like others, I had no problems or issues when on Enta.

Since being migrated to Vispa I've endured:

Overbilling
Throttled P2P (I'm far from being a heavy user!)
Stalling on sites like Youtube
Slower connection than when on Enta
Time outs - evening surfing can be a joke - but not a funny one :(
Game pings have doubled or even trebled. I own a number of game servers - all Hosted by Level3 in London. So I know exactly where the problem lays ... "good" old Vispa.

I've rated support as 2 - only because they replied to my email request for my MAC in less than 10 minutes. The rest are all 1's as it's a shoddy, over-priced, second rate service.

Avoid both Titan and Vispa, or you will regret it !

Roll on Monday 15th, when I'll be shot of the pair of them !!

...well not quite but things started really well with Titan when I joined about a year ago.
I'd switched from Nildram, who I had been with for about 5 years, after they got taken over by Tiscali....who then promptly place both hands on Nildrams internet pipe and started to squeeze...HARD!!!
At that point it became difficult to justify the increased cost for the poor service I was receiving so I started looking round and after reading quite a few good reviews (majoritly on this site) decided to give Titan a go.
The sales team were polite and effective so was the techincal team (although I only had to called them once and that wasn't their fault) and I was very happy with the service for 11 and half months....and then came the letter that informed me about the switch to Vispa.
Like a lot of people on here who are/were with Titan I had no problems with Entanet.
I read the reviews on vispa and they seemed quite promising so my initial fear subsided a little.
Then i got switched over. At that point it all went wrong. I did some speedtests and they were not good and p2p was terrible even late night/early morning, but I decided to persevere with it to give things a chance to settle and improve....unfortunately they didn't and just over a week ago after a dreadful online gaming session I made the decision to switch to BE, and so far I'm happy I did (I'll do a review of BE at a later date).
It was such a shame that it ended up like this with Titan as they have good customer service, knowledgeable technical support....just now, unfortuantely, their ADSL product (this does not refer to their ADSL2+ LLU product as that is not available in my area so I haven't been able to use it) is not worth what you pay.

Well as of yesterday speeds and torrents have improved alot for me, looks like Titan's move is settling down now. We have another account with Titan on their LLU service and that's rocks stable all the time.

I'm another TitanADSL customer who was swapped over from Entanet, despite having absolutely no problems with them at all. My speeds with Vispa during the day have been reasonably competent, but certainly worse than they were and far, far more variable. The speeds after midnight are always pitiful, however.

P2P is certainly being throttled, despite claims that this would never happen. The speeds are shockingly low at all times and rarely get above 5kb/s during off-peak. Youtube has also been badly affected and can never, ever be watched in real-time even on the lowest quality setting.

If I have the sheer audacity to enter an online game, it starts out OK, but then after a few minutes the ping shoots up to 150+ and the constant packet losses ensures I lose connection/get kicked very quickly.

My major problem, however, has been the shifting of off-peak times from 10pm to midnight. This is has rendered off-peak pretty much worthless. I'm not a heavy P2P user and kept the vast majority of it off-peak with Entanet, but that will be impossible now.

So, even if all of these problems were sorted out, the useless off-peak times ensure this unwanted shift to "a more efficient service and product" will cost Titan my custom. If this were completely free I still wouldn't use it, but on top of it all, Vispa saw fit to double bill me for this abysmal service.

I was a Titan subscriber for 2 years when they moved their supplier from Enta (whom there had been some problems with, but mostly pretty good) to Vispa.

I had previously been a subscriber with Vispa many moons ago prior to getting ADSL and seem to remember things going sour with them, but I thought whats the harm in seeing them now?

Well... the first problem wasnt really their fault per se... I received my welcome letter and details from them a few weeks before the switchover date that recommended I cancel my Direct Debit with Enta as soon as possible and enter my details with Vispa in advance. this I did... only to find myself cut off by Enta for the unauthorised cancellation of my debit! Had to get on the phone with them, get my debit set back up again and keep it going right up until the switch over date.. so suspect I've paid more than I needed to. Oh well.

Connected with Vispa. Oh dear. Instant noticeable change in performance. Youtube wouldnt play without buffering/stuttering, whereas I used to be able to stream 720p and 1080p material without issue. Bizarrely I was still able to download from sourceforge UK mirrors at max speed (700-800KB's)

Other streaming based video sites had the same result as youtube - stuttering sporadic speeds. AWFUL.

I prowled the vispa user forum and found others with same problem, who were being told that this was because everyone was getting line profiling. This seemed odd to me since my connection to the exchange hadnt changed, my sync rate was unchanged throughout - 832000/8128000. Then people were asking was there traffic shaping/throttling going on.. we were told no, but maybe its a good idea.. then traffic can be prioritised for youtube and the like. This seemed odd to me since whilst Enta was supposedly BAD.. I encountered none of this mischief with them.

I endured about 2 weeks of this god awful connection with Vispa... and was charged more than £80 for this.. when I queried it I was told it was a mistake and that I would be refunded £36 - £46 is still a lot to pay for 2 weeks rubbish internet provision.. but I just wanted OUT of there. Now it seems I've been refunded £30.. Im not sure I even want to bother chasing.. I'm glad to be off them as of this morning, and on with Xilo instead !

Title: too bad!
I've been a very happy customer of Titan ADSL for a year or 2 now, however their change from Entanet to Vispa has spoiled the broadband experience for me I'm afraid. Initially youtube, iplayer etc and p2p seemed throttled, throughout the day/night with the very occasional and short boost in speeds.
A week or so later and iplayer seems ok and std youtube vids watchable, although not the 480p like I used to.

p2p during the past 24hrs is still struggling to sit at anything above 15k/sec (with the occasional-short spurt to 100)

I've requested my migration code today from Titan, which is a real shame as their service/speeds use to be top draw, I hope for the many others that titan can get back to their high standards..

Now looking to change to Plusnet.

I used to be with Orange, when I look back now it seems like a nightmare I have just woken up from. On Titan Broadband, I have realised how bad Orange were. The same phone line Orange claimed was the cause of my dropouts, disconnections and poor speed (under 2mb on an 8mb capable line - I am half a kilometer from the exchange) I am getting a solid 8mb! I have been connected for a week now, not a single dropout, disconnection and a consistent, noncontended 8mb. I will NEVER look back. I might be paying £19 instead of £5 but it IS worth it. My sanity is again intact.
Migration to their new supplier has been good for me downloading Suse Linux at 850Kbps at the moment.
Will be moving to their LLU 24meg service next month ;-)

Ive been with Titan for about 2 years now and have always found their support and services to be excellent. When I did have issues they were dealt with quickly and politely (always by the same couple of fellas I think!!)

Like everyone else, I was forced to switch to Vispa from Entanet and unfortunately, the service is utter rubbish. As much as I want it to be good, or find a positive in the whole debacle, I cant and am now forced to swich ISP's.....only I cant, because the Titan support line doesnt even put me in a queue, it just says "were busy, try later".

Its a shame really, 'cos I think the guys who ran it when I first joined were great, but maybe just got too big for their boots.

The ratings Ive given are for the current situation. Had it been 6 months ago, it would have been 9's across the board.
