Early days, but I have had a very positive experience with IDNet after the demise of Fast broadband. They managed to reconnect me in a couple of hours. I have also found their e-mail communication very good. I was informed in a very timely way of everything I needed to know about my account. I get more MB downlad and for cheaper, caller display is free though the calls are more expensive (but I hardly make any) and it is a rolling 1 month contract paid by DD, which is better than paying by Debit card if you want to cancel. So far so good and long may it continue.

Title: IDNET
Been with Idnet for approx 2 days now, so I can't offer an exhaustive review. I was left without broadband when Firenet folded, and fortunately on one of the web forums I found recommendations for Idnet. I rang then up, they seemed very professional and were UK-based, with 24/7 customer support - moreover, they got me back online the same day! Speed is faster than Firenet too. The review is obviously going to be tentative after such a short time, but initial impressions are very good.

I came to IDNet from BT about 5 years ago. From the worst to one of the best providers.
Their service is excellent and all (in reality few) problems are dealt with quickly and effectively in an accent I can understand.

I assume 10 is best.

I've been with iDNet for around seven years now and not really felt the need to change.

Over that time it's proved to be a reliable and fast service especially now I'm on fibre, with good speeds.

Excellent UK based knowledgeable service although I've not had to use it very often.

To be honest I think their prices and bandwidth allowances could be a touch better but they're around the average for this type of business oriented ISP so no real complaint.

All in all highly recommended, especially if you're looking for a full service business ISP.

I've been with the rest, and hated the support when things went wrong, and often the speeds and slow downs

IDNet are outstanding but not the cheapest.

I made the mistake of trying a Yorkshire based (BT owned) ISP after a year of IDNet to try to economise... And after weeks bought my contact out and went back to IDNet

You get what you pay for indeed.

I thought ADSL broadband was now a commodity and chose the cheapest deal at the time with Talk Talk internet and phone. It was a painful and expensive mistake as my speeds dropped to about 500k bps at peak times. ie in the evening when I want to use it. The support was customer services agents reading scripts - they blamed the phone line to the exchange, the internal house phone wiring and the BT master box. I spend £150 getting an independent engineer to test the internal wiring and phone connection boxes. I then terminated my contract with Talk Talk which cost about £80 due to early termination. I signed up with IDNet and instead of porting my connection Talk Talk cut off my internet. This cost more to be reconnected. Now with IDNet and getting 6mbps at all times. How is this possible through the same wiring to the same exchange? My answer: its about the back haul ie the investment the ISP has made in their connection out onto the internet, the bandwidth and latency that this delivers in relation to the number of customers using. Three years on IDNet service always fast (6mbps) and reliable. A couple of times when my router has lost connection a reboot has fixed and calls to IDNet are answered in a few rings by real helpful genuine technical people. To be fair the router probably dropped the connection. I could not be happier.

I spent one year of hell with IDNet, trying to get them to fix the constant problems with our line. The support guy, who I got to know quite well, asked me to buy two new routers and told me that slow downs were a "part of the TCP/IP protocol and to be expected". IDNet appeared to be simply reselling a BT connection and so always claimed that they needed to get BT in, and warned me that it would cost hundreds. Broadband was unusable at weekends and youtube videos would not download. The support guy would simply not believe this.

We switched to BT from IDNet. Since then we have had very very fast, glitch free internet.

Joined IDnet on the 16th of April and do not regret a single moment I have been with them. I have found the staff very helpful in explaining questions I have asked and their advice.

My ping times have dropped, compared to previous ISP's, speed is what my line will support 13.97 d/l 0.87 u/l and I am happy with the price as well.

I have switched to IDnet due to house move, having previously been with various small and large ISPs over the years, most recently BT and Virgin.

Virgin (who I had been with at the time) wanted to increase the charge to £30.00 a month (!) for broadband at the new address saying it is the cheapest they could offer due to the type of exchange. Not only was this rather steap, it also entailed signing up for another 18month contract. Considering the rather unsatisfactory customer service and support, it was time for a change.

I contacted various smaller ISPs requesting information and IDnet was at all times helpful, fast and friendly.

No matter at what time of the day or night, the technical support is there (I called support at 4:00 am and was pleasantly suprised to have the issue dealt with so promptly, and even though it was a different person each time, they all were informed of the issue without me having to repeat it over and over again), effective and there are no waiting times. Costing £18.00/month (this obviously varies depending on plan) without being tied to a contract, I can only recommend this ISP.
