Besides other red flags (ex. the cool off period starts from the day you do the contract, so when they come to install, usually after 14 days, you are stuck with them if something goes wrong), my main issue is with the services that they are providing, more specifically, with the static IP.

They are using a service Carrier-Grade NAT (or CGN) due to a shortage of IPv4 (in short, 2 or more customers get access to Internet using the same IP) and, because of this, some customers (like me) pay for a service called Static IP (gives you an unique IP address for your internet connection).

On the installation day, I received an email saying that it would take up to 72 hours to get the static IP. After more than a week I received the follow-up email saying that everything is ready.
I had to call them because the service was not working, and they said that, next day, someone from Networks Team would call me to figure out the problems.
The next day came, and nobody rang, so I gave them a call, receiving the same answer.
Yesterday I rang to make a complaint about my issues, and the person from customer service reassured me that, shortly, someone from complaints will call to talk about it.
So far, another day had passed, and nobody bothered to call or to resolve my issue with the service that I paid for.

From my experience, this is a company that just wants to take your money.

I also ended up in an area with no service. The houses 50 yards away did have it, but mine missed out due to ducting issues.

After numerous emails and conversations with Alex, we managed to get the service installed. I had to fit some ducting myself to finish the last few metres of the fibre run, but I’m glad I did because the speed is top-notch.

So far, after five weeks, there have been no issues. The supplied Eero 7 Pro router is working very well indeed. I haven’t had to contact customer service, but I’ve had a courtesy call to check I’m happy with everything.

I would recommend Lightspeed to anyone in their service area.

I don’t usually post negative reviews, but after nearly 5 months of misleading communication and total lack of service, I feel it's necessary to share my experience with LightSpeed Broadband, especially for those considering signing up.

In February 2025, I moved into my new home in Kidsgrove, Stoke-on-Trent and received a leaflet from LightSpeed promoting broadband deals "available now" at my address. I signed up through their website immediately. However, after trying to book an installation, I was told over the phone that there was a mistake — the service wasn't yet available, and my order would be treated as a pre-order.

Despite clearly stating that I work from home and relying on stable broadband to do my job, I was assured multiple times that I'd be connected by end of March 2025.

From that point onward:

I emailed repeatedly, only to be told “the works aren’t finished yet.”

I was given vague apologies and no clear updates.

This cycle of false hope and silence continued through April, May, June.

Then, today, on 16th July 2025, I finally received an email confirming the entire project on my street has been cancelled — after almost 5 months of waiting and chasing. The reason? “Extensive civil engineering requirements.” No prior warning. No proactive communication

Lightspeed explained everything we needed to know to switch using One Touch Switch, installation happened on time and their contract buy out meant we could leave a much more expensive deal with another provider earlier.
