if your looking to get the cheap internet and not care bout the quality then talktalk is for you. horrible internet speed and always crackles wells using the landline and if thats not bad enough their tech support is a machine. then when you do get through to them pointless because they might as well be a machine talktalk is a joke if you want good price and good quality internet go to sky its not the best but its by far better than talktalk. as far as i am concerned talktalk need to seriously rethink their strategy and this upgrade they have brought out (fiber) is beyond me they advertise it so well so mugs like me and yourself buy this stupidly priced product just for the internet to ether reject it or bump you up maybe 1 or 2 killer bites.

DONOT sign up for vdsl(fibre) medium package with talktalk its a absolute sham and the speeds you quoted YOU don't get. I think that's to get you in contract then you have 18 months of hell with terrible internet and over priced rip off line rental. not just TT its also BT and there crappy fibre and they call it superfast which its overhyped and its rip off Britain yet again. The fault managers talk out there @ss with as they must be on drugs when they say you getting a good speed. donot trust this company one bit the agents lie out there back teeth when they tell you something and when it comes to what ever they have said they tell you complete different .

Title: noooooooo
awful. i paid £172 upfront for line rental. found out current supplier too expensive to leave while still in contract. rang talktalk thinking cancelling the transaction would be easy. 2 days of endless phonecalls to indian call centres constant emails nothing sorted. they will take weeks to refund the month. i will be lucky if i get it in a month. they want to send a check. a check who uses checks and they say it takes 10 working days just to send it. thieves and robbers avoid at all costs.

I've had issues with talktalk for a long time regarding their broadband. Random periods of no connectivity and slowdowns every day!
I have tried calling over and over, nothing gets fixed, the only response seems to be from a fella in an Indian call centre running through a script. The call centre operatives appear to have no technical training what-so-ever and so being an IT professional talking to them is exceedingly frustrating. I've been offered a new router to fix my problems (I've tried three already) or offered £2 off a month for six months (offensively poor response!) but only if I renew my contract for a further 18 months... yeah right!
I've even tried their community website and posted screenshots of speed tests and active RX rates from my router with NO RESPONSE!!!!

Never, ever, ever use TalkTalk. Untrustworthy, uncaring and unhelpful.

Title: Awful
Terrible service and the support is even worse. I only used talktalk because they bought out my old ISP.

During peak times download speeds on talktalk are as slow as 20kb/sec over ADSL. I switched to Zen and now get full speed for my line 24/7 (around 600kb/sec).

Avoid talktalk. You can get far better for the same money or less.

They scheduled four appointments, sent four technicians, and each time they attempted the exact same thing, and failed to complete the job in the exact same way. Two months since the order was placed and no resolution. Every attempt to communicate with Talk Talk customer support is a waste of time. They only way they know how to communicate is via pre-written scripts. They don't know their customers at all. Every time I call I have to explain the whole situation to them and their reply is always a scripted answer.

Avoid at all costs!

Now, I have only been in London (as well as UK) for about half a year and can only compare Tesco's service to ISPs in Canada, Germany and Austria. (And of course what I've read about UK providers in terms of price/performance)

Personally, I have never seen internet access being established this quickly and painless. The modem was in front of my door only two days after my order. The go-live date got scheduled for the week after. Everything was plug and play, no technician had to come by. For me, a downright miraculous experience.

Connection speed quickly stabilized after a couple of days of those initial, automatic adjustments that only caused me to lose connection a couple of times.

I get 15 MBit down (estimate was between 12 and 18), 900 KBit up. I have never observed speed drops. Longer disconnects (of maybe half an hour or so) happened maybe 2-3 times in that half a year. Shorter ones as rarely as well.
Now, sometimes, some website are suspiciously slow. And considering their high status, I doubt it's their servers and more likely my service. But that also doesn't happen often enough to at least annoy me.
And considering the price point, it seems like a steal.

I also just went through the termination process, as I'll move again and there were no issues, received replies between 24 and 48 hours.

To me, it was obviously important to not be tied down in a 24 month contract.
So - cheap, flexible and pretty fast and stable means a huge win in my book.
(I rated "services" 5 though because I never used them, so I can't say whether they're awesome too)

DON'T DO IT!!!!! WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!
I have recently moved house and upgraded my package where I recieved a quote for £31.65/month. The calls have been recorded and the package has been confirmed by the agent. After setting up everything the agreed package were not supplied. The agent gave my a missleading quoatition and I am very fustrated that after making the deal with TalkTalk I am not supplied with the agreed package. After talking with the Manager who was not able to help me I was considering to leave them forever as a customer, but even that i have given 30 days to change my mind they wanted to charge me £600. It is absolutely unacceptable what TalkTalk is doing and left me with no choice but to go to the ombudsman.
Don't go for TalkTalk guys!!!!

Title: Sad
I have been a customer of TalkTalk since January 2013.
My first reaction to the Broadband service was excellent! I got 2.2 Mg speeds.
That was where the good bits stopped.
I was invited to take a 'free' TV service. (now called 'Essentials'.
Instead they upped me to TV PLUS. I had already paid one year line rental and suppsoedly £3.75 per month for BB. (This being 50% discount for 12 months in return for my year line rental)
I got my box, it was ok, just Freeview and 'TV Gift' which was some box sets.
I later discovered I was paying £15.50 per month, I asked why and was told it was just some abberation of advance paying.
I continued being charged £15.50, I protested and got nowhere. Repeatdly told that my TV 'was free'. But I was being charged?
Eventually after many months I spoke with a manager, he was grumpy but agreed to rectify.
I was supposed to be returned to 'Essentials'.
Toady I get my latest bill, I am STILL being charged for TV PLUS.
My email to customer service is as always replied to by telling me that they can 'confirm' that I am on TV PLUS. I have an actual letter from them telling me I am on 'Essentials' (but can I return my TV box?)
Frankly TalkTalk customer service is non existent. Individuals who do not understand spoken or written English and who reply in broken English.

TalkTalk – not a company to do business with!
After a loss of two working days waiting for a TalkTalk installation that never happened I have just put down the phone after a 1:15 hour call – the latest of many. The purpose of my call was simple – to cancel my contract with TalkTalk. Their initial response has been to threaten me with debt collection agencies.
Folks considering signing up to a TalkTalk package should be aware of the following:
1. If any aspect of your package fails – TalkTalk do not consider that their failure frees you to terminate the package and seek another provider. Instead, TalkTalk will tell you that you’re contractually obliged to continue to pay them and – if you don’t – they’ll take action that undermines your credit rating.
2. A “TalkTalk package” they view to be binding (which is fair enough) except – their definition is that it is not a “package” when they fail to deliver. Instead, it is a set of individual contracts for each service; telephone, TV and broadband.
3. Never seek to upgrade a service with TalkTalk – that was my mistake. I tried to upgrade my broadband to fibre. After two agreed installation dates that TalkTalk did not attend I wanted to terminate all dealings with them – as I had warned I would do prior to agreeing a second installation date.
4. My request for termination was met with threats of “debt collectors” that they justify on the basis that their upgrade and installation agreements were not “a contract” and I remain bound to receive an unsatisfactory service that they failed to upgrade.
TalkTalk customer service representatives are polite and they’ll make promises that you want to hear. Unfortunately, those promises may not be delivered and TalkTalk do not believe their failure to amount to a breach of contract. Only a customer refusal to continue to pay TalkTalk is – in their view – a breach of contract.
I’ve cancelled my DD to TalkTalk irrespective of their threats.
