After eagerly watching Trooli over a number of months running cables up and down the road, people up poles, installing green boxes; I finally got an email that Trooli was live in my area.

I ordered their 300MB/100MB package which did the job for a number of years but have since been able to end contracts early and switch to their Black Friday deals which now means I'm on 1GB/1GB for an even cheaper rate.

In my 3.5 years with Trooli, I have had 1 outage which lasted about 12 hours and affected the whole town (which wasn't the fault of Trooli, damaged cable miles away) and I only needed to contact their support team once when my ONT got replaced and the new unit was incorrectly provisioned, so I wasn't getting my 1GB upload. [I know, first world problems....]

But no complaints about their service or staff, internet speeds are constant and reliable, and pings to external sources are as a low 3ms on a good day.

If anyone from Trooli does read this, hopefully you have a Black Friday deal for your 2GB package this year :)

Have been with BT for two years since Openreach installed FTTP. The original Openreach contractor was very good at feeding the fibre optic cable through my preinstalled conduit through to my understairs cupboard where they installed the Openreach ONT.

Looking for alternative to BT and I looked at Trooli. Appeared a good offer for 150Gb up and down, however before giving my bank details to ensure an engineer visit I queried why an engineer was necessary! I was told that the Openreach ONT needs to be replaced with a Trooli ONT with new fibre cable running from ducting in the street!

As I explained to the nice young man from Trooli my 13 mm conduit comes into the house running up through the boxing for the down pipe from bathroom, across the attic then down behing the plaster board into my understairs cupboard where all my NAS stuff is!

I think the Trooli engineer would think this was a bridge too far, just to install an ONT, which presumably will only work with Trooli!

I am sticking with my Standard Openreach ONT which should be compatible with most ISPs!

Have had a good experience with Trooli. They are new to our area so had been waiting for the service to become available. They were good at keeping us updated whilst waiting.

So far the service has been excellent. No down time and rock solid symmetric speeds with low latency.

Yes they are more expensive than other broadband options but we are based in a rural area and our only other option for these speeds would be a leased line which would would be way more expensive.

Using your own router is made more difficult than it need to be by them but not impossible - however the one they provide is not bad.
