Title: Awesome
I'm approaching my 1st anniversary from switching to you Xilo which prompted me to write this review.

After an initial few issues with my line going from ADSL to ADSL2 which were sorted by the guys in support plus me being obedient I've got the best broadband I've ever had.

My speeds have always been excellent and reliability is brilliant, I subscribe to the RSS on my phone for any announcements regarding downtime and I hear they are introducing e-mail notifications too.

The system where you have unlimited usage overnight is utterly brilliant and I schedule my downloads for this time. I'm considering an unlimited package or a fibre package when they start to do it in my area.

I've never had a problem ever with customer support, they've always been excellent.

Prices and usage caps are fair, I know I pay more than I could, but I get what I pay for.

It's now June 2013. This time last year, I was with the ISP from hell, Orange (now part of EE - don't know if they're better now but this is my experience.)

After being almost randomly sent an email from Orange I was told I could expect faster speeds. Wrong. My line crawled to a halt, with disgustingly slow speeds. The package was cheap but 0.2mbps speeds are hardly anything like 20...

After a bit of hassle I moved to the Eden that is Xilo. Having been with them for 11 months now I can safely comment that I am very satisfied with the service I am getting.

On my fibre package it is a rarity for the speed to drop below 30mbps from the 40 I am paying for. I very regularly hit speeds of 38mbps with a very good low ping of around 8ms. Good if you are a gamer, I am not however.

Cons: Telephone customer service is not 24/7 like some of the big companies, but then again you're not on a premium phone rate in order to contact them like Orange was. They do offer 24/7 phone service on some packages though. You won't need it however as in the occasion that you do need customer support, their online system works perfectly, you don't get a scripted response, and responses are quick.

Cost: Yes, it is higher, quite a bit higher then the £4 a month I was paying, but I am here for quality and couldn't stand being fobbed off by ISPs any longer. You get what you pay for. And I certainly can't complain on that front. Quality and service have been brilliant and I never shy away from passing on compliments about Xilo to friends & family.

Title: XILO
I have recently (a month ago) changed from one of the largest UK ISP's to XILO and have nothing than praise for them:

Facts: the max download I achieved with my former ISP was 4.5 MB and at peak times (after 5pm and on weekends) it dropped to 0.5 MB. Their call centre did what they had to do and that was, reading from a script always asking the same questions: are you connected directly to the router, did you reboot your router, well, you get the story. I was also told that the ISP had to cap the speed due to high usage ...

After 3 months I gave up.

I read about Xilo on "http://www.reviewcentre.com/Broadband-Reviews/UNO-Broadband--reviews_1385110 and I thought I'd give it a try.

Facts:
1. Contacted them and received response within ten minutes
2. Was set up within a week
3. Download Speed: Averaging 12 MB download!!! (most of the time 14.5 MB)

You may ask, how that is possible? No idea, I am not a techie, just a very satisfied user and the truth is: I don't care - period!

I've been with Xilo for three years to the day now and they are just fantastic. I originally had only broadband but have since taken on my hosting with them and have not been disappointed.

The level of performance is superb and I get consistently higher sync and throughput vs my neighbours. I am in rural area so I know we're all on the very same bit of copper!

Problems have been highly infrequent are always dealt with promptly, courteously and knowledgeably. This is where the Xilo service really shines for me - the staff are *amazing* and never seem to tire of helping.

For a concrete example of this: I wanted to move from one broadband package to another so I raised a ticket at 18:08:32. At 18:09:45 Matt had responded. A /human/ response in 1 minute 13 seconds! After my follow-up reply the job was completed in under seven minutes and I was a very happy camper indeed.

In conclusion: you get what you pay for. The prices may not be the very cheapest but the service and product _is_ the very best. I would have no problems whatsoever in recommending them and I do not ever intend to move.

Can not recommend highly enough.

I'm editing a review I first posted back in February, because Matt from Xilo has been in touch, and we've been able to sort out a lot of the issues I had been having.

My background: I've used a number of ISPs, but moved to Xilo from PlusNet because of dropped packets; I wanted more reliability and less latency.

Xilo delivered on that. From day 1, the connection was much more reliable. The Broadband section of their client portal is informative, and you can change a few stability settings (such as interleaving) yourself.

Most ISPs will give clients an e-mail address; some will give you perhaps 50MB of webspace for hosting static files. Xilo give you a free small-sized cPanel account on a VPS, that is not crippled or limited in any way. You can even run one site that needs a MySQL database. There's a bonus.

The prices at Xilo are slightly higher than providers like PlusNet, but they are a premium provider that doesn't overload the exchanges. Their prices are no higher than other similar providers.

I eventually left because I was having a string of dropped connections, becoming increasingly frequent. We couldn't solve this without Xilo calling out a BT SFI engineer; I was reluctant because that could end in BT charging me for the callout, and I didn't want that risk. The new provider I'm on now sees the same amount of line noise, but the connections don't drop. Whether this is because they operate a more stable network, or because of the lift-and-shift effected by the migration, I'll never know.

Since leaving, I've had a few communication issues. It's unfortunate they came together. 1. Some error on their ticket system meant I wasn't getting any e-mails when they updated a support ticket. 2. They automatically close your account with them once there are no active services. Those two issues together meant I had no way of reading any replies - I didn't get them by e-mail, and I couldn't log in to read them. 3. They sent a pro-rated refund cheque, but it was lost in the post. I had no way of communicating with them about this. All I could see was me sending them e-mails but nothing ever came back.

That cheque was reissued, and again lost in the post; I'm still waiting for a refund, this time by BACS. But I'm convinced that they are a good provider, and it's unfortunate that several communication problems all happened at the same time just as I was leaving.

I've been with XILO for nearly 2 years and so far so good. Speed and reliability is excellent. Their support is outstanding and they're extremely fast at replying to support emails. On the rare occasions my connection drops, they have fixed the issue promptly. They also made sure everything was OK when a damaged telephone wire knocked out my connection (I had to deal with BT directly unfortunately, so it took a month to fix), but XILO monitored the issue and made sure my connection was back at full speed and stable.

I've previously used and do not recommend Firefly, who became arrogant & obnoxious with awful speeds and unstable connection, TITAN, Enta & Vispa due to the unstable connection and poor support.

I sincerely hope XILO keep their feet on the ground and continue to offer this top quality service, which I can highly recommend.

Initially had a few issues with my hosting through Xilo - broadband was fine, in fact the fastest I've had in 12 years at my current address.
Matt from Xilo tackled the problems I was experiencing almost immediately and to be honest I could not have asked or expected a better level of support. Issues now appear to be resolved.
No hesitation in recommending Xilo to anyone who wants a first class product combined with superb support when needed.

Matt, thanks again.

I have been with a lot of IPS's, BT, Sky, NTL before it was Virgin, plusnet etc.

I came to accept that at busy periods it was just the way it was that your broadband got capped to hell. I was getting 5-15kb's most the time and couldnt even stream youtube.

I decided to do some research and found this website. Looked at the best reviews and although I've not heard of them before, decided to go to Xilo.

That was the best decision I have made in a long while. Constant full speed and suddenly the internet was usable again. Youtube worked and I even get in to the 75 ping lobbies when on the PS3 and MW3!!!

Price was slightly more than normal but I was happy as a pig in muck. Then they release new packages in Feb13 and the value is phenomenal!

500GB unmetered!!!

I pestered them with questions up front and nothing was too much trouble, lightning quick replies and came across and friendly and actual people rather than the scottish robots you tend to get with the larger ISP's.

I will be recommending these guys to everyone.

Had moved into a new-build flat without having checked for cable / fibre availability which was a little dissapointing so I ended up looking around for ADSL providers.

As I have had to use other bulk sold services from BT at work and found the service, speeds and services just to be poor and these were on business phone and broadband packages, I wanted to avoid the common bulk sold services!

Found Xilo through this site in fact and reviews looked very good and their services looked good also. Initially Xilo did not have LLU available for my exchange, but a few months later they did, so I switched over to that straight away to get the unlimited dwonloads / bandwidth usages.

Since then, they have started trialing bonding solutions in my area and I now have two lines, LLU'd with Xilo with bonding which has easily doubled my speed!

While the bonding does add up in costs a little, for my usages and desire for the stable service with the extra speed, I'm finding this to be an awesome service and have found the Xilo support and sales staff to be brilliant in helping to get the new lines ordered up, set up and working without any problems.

I'm now sitting happy on a bonded setup, with cable / fibre speeds now.

Just waiting on cable solutions to become available in my area through Xilo, and I'll be switching over to that as soon as it's available!

Have even got my work lines switched over to Xilo and will be getting those bonded soon too!

Awesome service!
Awesome support!
Awesome prices!

Thanks Xilo!

I've been with numerous ISPs over the years. Virgin Media, BT, Sky, Talk Talk, Plusnet to name a few. I've always had complaints with all of them. I moved into a new house 6 months ago where I decided to try out SKY's broadband - advertised as 8mb line (good for where I am in the country side) I went for it, to be shocked at the speeds I was receiving. 0.2-0.5 at peaks times and max 1.3 in the day. I only received 5-6 mb at night between 1am - 7 am. I couldn't even stream a 1 minute YouTube clip without it buffering!

After a number of calls to sky to attempt to sort out the problem, they concluded to me that I was downloading too much and that once I used over 1.5gb in the day they would 'traffic manage' by cutting my speed. You can't even stream 1 tv show from BBC Iplayer with that allowance!

I found XILO Communications Ltd. on here. Decided to give them a go, and I can say with confidence I will never use any other service provider! I get my full 8mb speed all day, everyday! Customer support is excellent.

If you're with any of these big ISPs and are unhappy change to XILO now, you will not regret it!
