 Aquiss (Broadband Fixed Line)

I've recently joined a new provider following a house move, so without an AltNet available, I looked around and found Aquiss.

Since joining, any minor hiccup obstacle has either been dealt with quickly or rectified and you always feel there's always someone on hand to deal with an issue including the big boss, who dealt with the query, they also know who to talk to and when.

Speeds are solid, absolutely no slowdown or lag at peak times and when I had trouble connecting my TP-Link router, I found an entire support webpage with a full breakdown on how to connect the same model of router - I like the 12 month contract option and there customer management system is easy to use.

No complaints and prices are in the same ballpark as they bigger providers. I'd recommend Aquiss over any of the bigger providers any day.

NOTE: I have FTTP, but an ONT was already fitted to the property by BT.

 Swish Fibre (Broadband Fixed Line)

I've recently moved to Swish Fibre FTTP from Sky FTTC - they made an offer that no one could refuse, so far based on the experience I've had I'm incredibly impressed.

From the initial phone call right through to connection day, they have been very good, admittedly there was a delay in going live, but this was due to circumstances beyond their control and they did keep me up to date, so the sales team, aren't sign you up and forget, they really care and will keep you up to date.

Installation appointment team are fast and efficient, when the install team arrived to put fibre into the house, they discuss the entire install and make sure you are happy with everything, we had one small problem and the engineer wasn't going to leave until he saw the speeds I was promised.

EDIT: Well it's now been nearly 10 months and speeds and service have been solid, but the customer care I raved about has taken a complete nosedive, very long hold-times and someone answering the line "with hello, hello, then silence then hello" plus they're penalising customers on monthly contracts and not offering long term legacy customers better prices, yes the service is awesome but the customer care is beyond awful which I'd never thought I'd say about this business after my sign up experience. My concerns are as they get more popular - will they able to cope?

I'm updating my review as I'm now back with Uno Broadband (and soon phone) after a poor experience with the previous provider.

I ordered Fibre (Fibre + 80/20) and I have to say, I'm really impressed, BT engineer turned up and did his magic, the router supplied by Uno did it's job and synced at very high speeds.

There was some concern over speeds after a few days use but Matt and the support team stepped in when I posted it on a public forum even before I could raise a ticket and all this at 11pm Friday evening (I swear these guys never sleep) and we finally worked out what was going on, thankfully not congestion.

The previous provider also threatened to cut my phoneline off, I phoned Uno up who gave me some great advice and now my phone is moving over to them with no interuption.

Tickets answered quickly, rock solid broadband, great speeds, and out of this world support.

Yes you do pay more, and some may want the the "unlimited broadband for a £1 a month deal", and I have no issue with that, but I'd prefer to pay the extra knowing I can log on, it will work and if it doesn't the company has me covered and if it can't work what's going on, it will try everything to find out why.

Thanks Uno.
