After nearly 15 years with Demon using dial-up and ADSL we decided to part company due to horrendously slow speeds and a worsening quality of service. After a few weeks of researching other ISPs, reading reviews and ploughing through ISPs' own sites we plumped for XILO.
The move went smoothly with around 2 hours actual 'downtime' and immediately we noticed that our speeds were up over three-fold (we were occasionally getting less than 1Mbps with Demon on an 8Mbps package with an average speed c.2Mbps). A couple of days later we notice that speed had dropped and contacted XILO. A ticket was raised and for the next few days things were monitored with regular contact from the company. Four weeks on and we have a steady downstream speed of around 5.7Mbps and we have even reached 7Mbps on a number of occasions.
We haven't got a 'quick' line at the moment (2.7km from exchange over old copper) so we are more than happy with the speed, especially compared to Demon. And the service has been excellent. We also have more Webspace than previously. The cost is slightly more but for the solid support and speed I'm quite happy to accept that.
