Title: Sign up with ID Net - get useless Zen
After 7 yrs of hell with Zen Internet I came across IDNet on ISP Review) I wish I hadn't. I told IDNet that I'd had a dreadful 7 yrs with Zen, hey neglected to tell me that they're re-sellers of Zen Internet broadband & phone & so deceived me into thinking that I had signed up with someone unconnected.
The sales guy walked me through signing up online, whilst we were on the phone, its the only way you can order off their very confusing, far from clear website, he made me order 2 brand new landlines (I didn't need these as already had them) & ADSL broadband which has been a nightmare.I've had several outages every single day for almost 2 weeks now, I've lost copious business & clients, not one penny of compensation offered, quite the contrary - they refused it.Their tech support is diabolical, they blame your equipment -your computer/your router/microfilters/ethernet cables etc. They had me struggling to unscrew a master socket to test my line in it, I told them I'd had a stroke & lost feeling in my fingers & was in severe pain from Cancer in my groin so it hurt bad to struggle to reach the master socket behind heavy items in my cold garage. My line was supposedly fault free yet I was getting 3.57 download speed & 0.06 mbps upload. I was abused for daring to complain, they endlessly tried to make me pay for fibre or leave. My advice - steer clear zero stars for all.

Response From iDNET

We use several backhaul providers, including Zen Wholesale. Though not mentioned during the order process it's no secret. Had you asked, we would offer the information freely.
The problem here is not the backhaul provider nor the ISP.

You have an ADSL2+ service (expected speeds of 1-3Mbps down, upto 1Mbps up) You are receiving 6Mpbs down, 0.8Mbps up but are uploading large video files which saturate the upstream causing the connection to grind to a halt.

We have gone to great lengths in calls and emails to demonstrate this to you, the Support Manager has reviewed the case. The chosen service cannot support your level of usage. You are not tied to IDNet and are welcome to try any ISP for FTTP. The information provided is factual not aimed at making money from you.

We always empathise and work closely with those incapable of carrying out local tests.

We have never mis-sold or deceived you. At no time have you been abused by any member of IDNet. After the lengths we have gone to support you, we are deeply offended that you would make such a claim.

Feedback provides a valuable opportunity to review our performance and we go to great lengths to ensure all at IDNet maintain our high standards of excellence. Reviewing your case for the second time, I remain satisfied the Team carried out their duties in an exemplary manner and followed correct procedure.

Sincerely,

IDNet
