BT has confirmed to ISPreview that its wholesale division did indeed terminate a contract for the provision of BT Wholesale broadband services with UK ISP Prodigy Internet because of a financial (non payment) dispute. The news follows yesterday’s related article (
here).
The BT Spokeswoman told ISPreview : "BT can confirm that it has terminated its contract for the provision of BT Wholesale broadband services with Prodigy Internet Limited due to non payment of invoices. From 30 March 2009, customers of Prodigy Internet Limited that want to log on to their broadband account will be redirected to a BT Wholesale web page where they can request a Migration Authorisation Code (MAC), which will enable them to migrate to a new service provider of their choice and will help to minimise any disruption to their broadband service."
It's understood that neither BT nor Ofcom have had much luck in contacting the ISP, despite Companies House still reporting the business as trading.
