It's a sad fact that most broadband routers are fairly unattractive hulks of plastic that provide little to be aesthetically pleased about. For most people it's more important that the router just works than how it looks, but it would be of benefit if they were easy on the eyes too. To that end UK broadband ISP TalkTalk has come up with some interesting concepts and they want
YOU to vote for the best; better yet, they might even build the winner.
It's fair to say that some of the design concepts seen in TalkTalk's video are comically amusing, but then we never were very good 'modern' art critics and to be fair that
Jellyfish one might provide a good talking point or two :cheese: .

"We asked Goldsmiths to consider four factors: signal strength, home style, energy efficiency and, finally, pure enjoyment. As I’m sure you’ll agree our bit of future gazing has produced some provocative results. Personally, I’m rather fond of the jelly fish – it has a real wow factor – but here in the TalkTalk team everyone seems to have their own favourite."
For the record there are some good looking routers on sale in the market, for example Belkin - while not always having the best tech - do a few lovely designs. It's also hard to fault Virgin Media for their new curvy 50Mbps cable modem, albeit lacking some features.
