Sir Tim Berners-Lee Apologises for Double Slashes in Web Addresses

Posted: 14th Oct, 2009 By: MarkJ
www Sir Tim Berners-Lee, the creator of the World Wide Web (WWW) and director of the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), has - tongue in cheek - finally said sorry for putting those "unnecessary" double slashes // at the beginning of Internet addresses. Yeah thanks for that Tim, bit late though :) . He told The Times newspaper that "it seemed like a good idea at the time," much like Hitler.. wait, poor comparison. I'll get my coat.
