Business broadband ISP
Fusion Media Networks (Fusion) has cut the cost of its 1:1 contention based 2Mbps SDSL (symmetric - same speed both ways) broadband service to £199 +vat per month. The package is based on a minimum 12 month contract and there is also a one-off setup fee of £350.
Being a true business broadband service there are no broadband caps and there is no broadband fair usage policy (FUP) or traffic shaping. Note that this is true SDSL and not the restrictive “SDSL-M” variant. The offer price is valid until 31st December 2009; thereafter it will revert to £229 per month.
512Kb/512Kb: £99 per month
1Mb/1Mb: £159 per month
2Mb/2Mb: £199 (offer price) per month
SDSL remains one of the only broadband services over a single copper pair that guarantees 1:1 contention and upload speed to run at the same rate as downloads. It is viewed by many as a cost-effective alternative to comparable Leased Lines or PPC (Partial Private Circuits) from BT.
