We don't often cover new broadband networking hardware but the newly announced
D-Link Touch DIR-865 at CES 2010 probably deserves a quick plug because of its included 3 inch Touchscreen, which is useful for both setting up and managing the device (as opposed to typing in your gateway IP address via a website browser).
Final specifications for the router, which itself will be available sometime during the first half of 2010, have not yet been released. However it's probably safe to assume that all the usual Ethernet ports, firewall and other capabilities are there.
The router will also sport a maximum 802.11n Wi-Fi transfer rate of up to 450Mbps, though real world performance usually falls well short of such expectations. We like the Touchscreen idea, but is it really necessary and how much will at add to the devices cost? Wait and see.
