Broadband provider Eclipse Internet has today launched their new 'up to' 40Mbps (10Mbps uploads) speed superfast fibre optic broadband packages, which are based off BT's new Fibre-to-the-Cabinet ( FTTC ) technology. As an incentive Eclipse are offering a FREE installation for new customers who sign-up to a 12 month contract before 30th April, saving £75.
Clodagh Murphy, Director of Eclipse Internet, said:
"Our free installation offer means that businesses have one less cost burden to worry about in these uncertain economic times. It is important for SMEs and home users to save wherever possible as well as benefit from increased connection speeds and services including VPN, video conferencing and VoIP."
This Fibre installation offer will also be available to new customers who purchase any standard Eclipse business or residential (home) broadband product on a 12-month contract. Once Fibre becomes available in their area, Eclipse will get in touch to manage the upgrade and waive the installation fee.

Free vDSL modem
Eclipse Fibre Pro - £49.95 per month
Up to 40Mbps download speed (12Mbps Guaranteed throughput)
Up to 10Mbps upload speed
60GB usage during peak hours (Unlimited Usage 11pm - 9am)
Free vDSL modem
Free WAN router
The initial packages are clearly quite expensive and appear to be squarely aimed more at businesses. For comparison their top-end up to 24Mbps
Home Pro (residential) package, which is based off older and less reliable ADSL2+ broadband technology, might be more appealing; 100GB usage allowance (Free overnight usage), FREE wireless router, FREE PC backup, FREE phone calls and FREE webmail. Poor FTTC coverage is also likely to be a problem for awhile yet.
