Net Applications statistics show that Microsoft's Internet Explorer 8 website browser has grown to reach 31% (+.94% growth) of the worldwide web browsing market (combined result of various different IE8 editions). Major competitors Google Chrome grew just +0.32% across all OS's and Mozilla Firefox fell slightly by -0.24%.

Apple's Safari 4 browser doesn't even figure into the results until 17th position where it gets a meagre share of just 0.32%. For our part we think that Chrome is the fastest website browser and it's a shame to see IE6, with its slow speed, poor rendering performance, weak security and failure to follow standards, continuing to hold such a huge chunk of the market.
