VIDEO ISP Easynet Explains How UK Businesses Can Benefit from Fibre Broadband

Posted: 15th Jul, 2010 By: MarkJ
easynet connect uk logoBusiness ISP Easynet Connect has released a new advice video which is designed to help small firms make a more informed choice about whether or not to opt for a "super-fast" 100Mbps+ fibre optic broadband connection. It follows on from a similar video by the FTTH Council Europe, released earlier this week (here).

The video examines some of these issues:
- Is fibre the future?
- Who gets the most benefit from fibre, and where it is best used? (e.g. are some sectors more in need than others?)
- How fibre can help you to avoid sharing your internet connection with countless others (i.e. contention)
- What do speeds of 100Mbps mean for file transfers
- Usage restrictions & data caps
- Cost
However we're not sure about the merits of comparing transfer speeds of 100Mbps to a 56Kbps (dialup) connection, surely it would have been better to use a more modern speed in the comparison or perhaps even 2Mbps due to the USC.
