Broadband.co.uk has released its latest anecdotal monthly consumer broadband ISP speed testing results for the past month of June 2011, which saw the
average UK internet download speed remain fairly stable at
6.690Mbps (6.970Mbps in May 2011). Meanwhile the
average upload speed jumped from 0.851Mbps to reach
1.030Mbps over the same period, exceeding 1Mbps for the first time.
As usual Virgin Media UK's cable platform continues to dominate both downstream (11.147Mbps, down from 12.854Mbps in May) and upstream (1.806Mbps, up from 1.480Mbps in May) speeds, although BT managed to raise its game considerably and reported strong results.

It's important to point out that a number of ISPs appear to have improved their upstream performance during June, with Virgin Media , BT and O2 ( Be Broadband ) showing distinctly faster speeds than they did in May. BT and O2 ( Be Broadband ) also made gains in download performance, while many other ISPs appeared to lose speed.
