Scotland-based Apogee Internet (Rustyice Solutions), a little known Satellite ISP, has announced that it will soon be able to offer a new range of 10Mbps satellite-based broadband services thanks to a distribution deal with SES Astra for the use of its upgraded ASTRA2Connect spacecraft.

Apogee's parent, Rustyice Solutions, hopes the new strategic partnership will help to expand its services into a new business area by providing broadband internet access via satellite to customers who may have no access to fixed line-based ISP products (rural areas).


The service is effectively the same one being sold by BeyonDSL, which confirmed the rollout of a similar upgrade earlier this month (here). Unfortunately Apogee Internet prefers not to detail its packages in public, although their online ordering system suggests that the service is broadly similar to BeyonDSL's.
