O2 UK Share Virus Infected USB Pen with Business Customers

Mobile operator O2 has been left embarrassed after a marketing campaign for a free eBook, which involved the distribution of USB embedded pens to business customers, backfired because some of the devices included a virus that attacked older versions of Microsoft Windows (from Win 95 to Vista).

Cityfibre to Finish Edinburgh’s 100km Fibre Optic FTTP Network Extension

Fibre optic developer Cityfibre has issued an update on the £5.6m deal with Edinburgh City Council in Scotland, which is extending their existing Gigabit capable Fibre-to-the-Premise (FTTP) broadband network in the city to around 150km. The work is now expected to complete by the end of next month.

Ofcom Drops Sky and BT Linked Probe into Premier League TV Rights

Ofcom’s long running probe into the rising cost of Premier League TV rights (football, rugby etc.), which was started by Virgin Media in 2014 and followed frustration over the impact of a bidding war between BT and Sky (Sky Broadband), has today been closed. But a few positive tweaks are coming.
