Delays Bog Down Gigaclear FTTP Broadband Rollout in Crazies Hill

It’s two years since full fibre UK ISP Gigaclear announced that they could deploy their 1Gbps Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) broadband network to the rural village of Crazies Hill in Berkshire (here), which beat Openreach (BT) and Virgin Media to the punch. Sadly the local residents are still waiting.

Zen and Plusnet Come Top of 2018 Biannual MSE Broadband Survey

Internet and phone providers Zen Internet and Plusnet have come top in a new biannual UK MSE survey of ISP customer service quality. Sadly the news isn’t so good for those at the opposite (bottom) end of the table, where TalkTalk and the Post Office could both be found.

Virgin Media UK Launch First Dedicated 4K Ultra HD TV Channel

Cable broadband ISP and TV network Virgin Media has today announced the launch of a new dedicated Ultra High Definition (4K UltraHD) TV channel, which will be exclusively available for Virgin TV Full House and VIP customers with a V6 set-top-box from Monday 17th September 2018 “at no extra cost“.

ISP Sky Broadband UK to Sell Openreach G.fast and FTTP Broadband

After a period of uncertainty it’s today been revealed that Sky Broadband has done a new wholesale deal with Openreach (BT) to sell the operator’s range of “ultrafast broadband” (G.fast and FTTP) services on to UK customers, which will come at a hefty price discount of up to 40%. Sky now hope to double their customer base.
