VIDEO Documentary Looks at Balquhidder Community FTTH Build in Scotland

A team of documentary makers from the EU have published a lovely video that examines the excellent work being done by the Balquhidder Community Broadband project (CIC), which is currently rolling out a new 1Gbps FTTP broadband ISP network to serve all 197 premises in the remote rural Balquhidder area.

Gigaclear and Hyperoptic Ranked in Sunday Times Tech Track 100 UPDATE

ISP Gigaclear, which is aiming to cover 350,000 rural UK premises with their Gigabit capable FTTP broadband network by the end of 2021 (currently 65,000 premises passed), has been ranked 23rd in the Tech Track’s 2018 league table of Britain’s 100 private tech companies with the fastest-growing sales over their latest 3 years.

North Yorkshire UK Targets 97% Superfast Broadband Coverage

The Superfast North Yorkshire project in England has revealed how an additional £11.15m of funding, which was recently secured from the Government’s £75m Rural Broadband Infrastructure Scheme (RBIS), could boost “superfast broadband” (24Mbps+) coverage from the current target of 95% to 97%.

ISP BT Launches UK Data Only Mobile Broadband SIM Plans

Consumer telecoms provider BT Mobile has today expanded their UK range of EE based 4G Mobile services by introducing their own set of SIM Only Data plans, which naturally include bonuses and value-added extras for customers of their existing fixed line broadband ISP services.

Three UK Remove Essential Mobile Plans and Cut 100GB SIM Price

Mobile operator Three UK has informed us that their cheapest ‘Essential’ plans will today be withdrawn from sale in order to “simplify” their tariffs by focusing on ‘Advanced’ plans. On the upside the provider plans to cut the price of their 4G data based 30GB and 100GB plans.
