Giffgaff’s full fibre broadband plans now available to 4.2 million UK homes
Mobile operator and internet provider giffgaff, which is gradually making their new full fibre (FTTP – XGS-PON) broadband packages available to UK consumers via nexfibre’s and Virgin Media’s networks (here and here), has revealed that they’ve increased their serviceable footprint to 4.2 million homes and rising.
Just to be clear, this reflects the c.2.6 million premises covered by nexfibre’s full fibre network and also some of the premises that Virgin Media are upgrading from their old Hybrid Fibre Coax (HFC) network to FTTP as part of the ongoing Fibre Up (Project Mustang) programme. The latest figure of 4.2m+ does however only represent a fairly mild increase from the 4m+ they reported in mid-June 2026.
A spokesperson for giffgaff said: “So far this year, we’ve increased our serviceable footprint to a whopping 4.2 million homes and counting. Whilst we’re unable to share a strict timeline or rollout schedule, due to many moving parts including construction work to enable fibre in more streets, we’ve been busy refining the service we offer and ensuring support is spot-on. We are still focused on being able to serve more homes.”

New customers of the service typically pay from just £25 per month for 200Mbps (symmetric) speeds on a 24-month term, which rises to £32 for their top 900Mbps package. The packages off free setup, unlimited usage, an included wireless router and a pledge of “no mid-term price rises“. You can optionally take a shorter monthly (rolling) plan for just a few pounds extra. Automatic switching from Virgin Media to giffgaff should also soon become possible (here).
