A new TalkTrack report from marketing research firm Keller Fay has revealed that an estimated 3 million negative opinions are exchanged about one or other of five major broadband ISPs providers each day, with BT and TalkTalk suffering the most from Negative Word of Mouth (NWOM). But the news is better for the rest.

The Internet Telephony Services Providers’ Association (ITSPA), which acts as a trade body for the United Kingdom’s VoIP industry, has today unveiled the winners of their 6th annual 2014 ITSPA Awards. Once again Localphone picked up the gong for Best Consumer VoIP provider.

The results from the joint annual PC Advisor magazine and Broadband Genie Home Broadband Survey 2014 have been announced, which saw PlusNet pick-up the award for ‘Best Broadband Provider’. Sky Broadband, Gigaclear and Virgin Media also picked up some awards.

Netflix UK‘s unlimited Internet movie and TV video streaming service has published its final ISP Speed Index update for December 2013, which reveals that Virgin Media continued to deliver the best performance for its service and BT came a close second.

The latest survey of consumer satisfaction, which was conducted by the communications regulator with 6,000 respondents between July and September 2013, has found that Sky Broadband and Virgin Media both score the highest (71%) for broadband but TalkTalk is at the bottom on 62%.

Ofcom’s latest quarterly customer complaints report for Q3 2013 has revealed that Sky Broadband and Virgin Media have continued to attract the fewest consumer gripes out of all the major fixed line broadband and phone providers. By comparison BT and EE saw their complaint levels skyrocket.

The latest anecdotal September 2013 study of big fixed line broadband ISP performance in the United Kingdom from Broadband.co.uk has reported that the average download speed is now 16.907Mbps (down from 17.512Mbps in August), which falls to 2.804Mbps for the average upload speed (down from 2.894Mbps).

The UK telecoms regulator has published its latest Q2-2013 customer complaints report and reveals which of the largest fixed line broadband, telephone, mobile and pay-tv providers have caused the most annoyance for consumers. Happily the overall level of complaints, especially for EE and TalkTalk, has fallen.

Internet provider PlusNet has been named the overall winner for Broadband Choices annual Customer Satisfaction Awards 2013, which claims to have quizzed over 2,500 subscribers of the main ISPs in the United Kingdom to help reach its conclusion. But there were other winners too.

Apparently this time around they were the only ISP to achieve the gong.
