Tiscali Launch New Business Broadband Products

Posted: 09th Oct, 2007 By: MarkJ
ISP Tiscali UK has further expanded its business broadband options with the introduction of a new ten line Voice Ready Broadband product. Furthermore they have also introduced a new ‘all in one’ service that will enable resellers to deliver tailor made, line rental, voice and data services over a single connection.

The premium 'Voice Ready' product, available from Tiscali Business Services, offers guaranteed voice quality over broadband with enhanced care and SLAs to support carrier class voice services:

Voice Ready is offered as part of the Tiscali Wholesale Connectivity ADSL product set, designed specifically for resellers wishing to provide guaranteed quality services to support real time applications such as Voice over ADSL, Video Streaming and Video Conferencing. ADSL Connectivity is ideal for service providers with an existing network infrastructure and who wish to overlay additional Tiscali network unique capabilities such as Local Loop Unbundled services and Tiscali DataStream.

Voice Ready Broadband is the first service of its type to offer SLA backed, guaranteed voice quality over broadband with enhanced care to support carrier class voice services. The SLAs are on latency, jitter and packet loss, all of which are crucial to the quality of a voice call over a single broadband line. These guarantees allow resellers to offer cost effective alternatives to traditional PSTN and ISDN based services.

Other benefits to resellers include low cost interconnection with Tiscali infrastructure at 100Mb, 1Gb and 10Gb, industry-leading product development of new technologies such as ADSL2+ and the ability to provide differentiated services in the marketplace.

Tiscali also issued a second bit of news further detailing their 'all in one' wholesale package:

WLVA is delivered over the Tiscali Core Network which is based on the latest Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) technology. This provides the ability to carry the next generation of data products, for example IPTV and telco grade voice services. Current product speeds range from standard 512Kbps services up to business-grade Max services with Enhanced Care and Static IP addresses.

The product roadmap will see the introduction of ADSL 2+ services offering speeds of up to 24Mb as they become available. Tiscali will also be investing in Wholesale Broadband Connect (WBC) as BT rolls out its 21st Century Network, to complement its own build network which now covers more than 50% of the enterprise base.

It's worth pointing out that the well documented problems of Tiscali's own direct Internet products don't usually afflict those buying its wholesale services. Hopefully that remains the case with this latest option.
